Descriptions

Basic Japanese course is designed to learn basic Japanese, to enable communication in day today life. It is no doubt a difficult language. It consists of 3 scripts, Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji.  There are 5 levels of Japanese. It begins with N5 and ends with N1. Proficiency of the language increases with each level simultaneously. JLPT Exams which are conducted by Japan Foundation are held twice a year. On first Sunday of July and first Sunday of December. This is recognized as a standard exam for the proficiency in the language and is held all over the World. 

Book which is considered as standard one is “Minna No Nihongo”. It is divided in two volumes for each level. Minna No Nihongo is designed to reflect daily life in Japan and life style of the Japanese people. 

1. 1. Passages under “Kaiwa”, depicting different scenes of exchange between Foreign and Japanese characters in the book allow students developing practice of conversation. 
2. Sentence patterns and Example sentences allow students to grasp grammar points 
3. Drills A, B & C are designed for practicing sentence patterns in actual situation. 
4. Questions are divided in to grammatical questions and ones based on reading passge.

5 Translation and Grammatical Notes volume, is for vocabulary and grammatical notes to guide students in English. 

6. CDs are to help students in pronunciation, intonation when listening to the vocabulary, sentence patterns and example sentences.

We are engaging classes at N5 and N4 level at present. With the added experience in teaching Japanese to school students, it has become easier for our teachers to teach the language for students in different age groups using audio/ video means and supplementary texts and materials whenever the need be for developing interest in the language learning.
